GM Alexandra Kosteniuk is this Wednesday’s Queen!

In the latest edition of the Swiss Queens Wednesday tournament held on March 6th, GM Alexandra Kosteniuk not only displayed her exceptional chess prowess but also maintained a consistent presence in the top ranks throughout the competition. Rising to the occasion, Kosteniuk secured the first-place position by Buchholz in a triple tie with GMs Nino Batsiashvili and Valentina Gunina (8,5/11).

The tournament attracted a strong field of players, including notable names such as IM Meri Arabidze, IM Vantika Agrawal, and IM Injac Teodora.

The current final standings revealed the following top performers:

1st place — GM Alexandra Kosteniuk with 8½/11 points;
2nd place — GM Nino Batsiashvili with 8½/11 points;
3rd place — GM Valentina Gunina with 8½/11 points;
4th place — IM Rout Padmini with 8/11 points;
5th place — WGM Qianyun Gong with 8/11 points;
