Andreikin is the second finalist of the FIDE Grand Prix 2022 in Belgrade

The semifinals of the FIDE Grand Prix 2022 in Belgrade brought Anish Giri and Dmitry Andreikin in the tiebreaks. Andreikin managed to win the rapid tiebreaks with a 1.5-0.5 score and will face Rapport in the finals tomorrow.

The semifinal tiebreaks between Dmitry Andreikin and Anish Giri started with a peaceful first game and a draw by repetition. The second game was in Giri’s favor until a miscalculation by the Dutch GM. A few moves later, Giri resigned and Andreikin became the second semifinals of the FIDE Grand Prix in Belgrade.

Tomorrow, Andeikin will face Rapport in the finals who moved to the semifinals by winning MVL with a 1.5-0.5 score.
