The Swiss Queens Wednesday Series is a weekly chess event organized by FIDE and World Chess to celebrate the achievements of women in chess. It provides a global platform for female players to connect, compete, and grow within the chess community.
The Swiss Queens Wednesday is hosted on the FIDE Online Arena platform (chessarena.com) every Wednesday, starting January 31st, 2024, at 17:00 Central European Time.
The tournaments are open to all women chess players holding either FIDE or FIDE Online Arena titles.
The tournament features a Swiss pairing system with a 3+1 Blitz time control.
Prizes totaling $1,000 per tournament will be awarded, with the potential for an annual prize fund increase to $100,000. The prize pool of each tournament is $1,000: 1st - $300, 2nd - $250, 3rd - $200, 4th - $150, 5th - $100.
To participate, all players should have a FIDE or Arena title and an active Pro subscription. Titled players are eligible for a lifetime free PRO subscription! This applies to WIM, IM, WGM, and GM titles. Contact support@chessarena.com to get more information.
The tournament emphasizes fair play, and strict adherence to FIDE's regulations is enforced. The Night Watch Fair Play Suite will analyze games, and players are required to join a monitored Zoom meeting during the tournament.
The official rules and regulations are available on the tournament website. Participants are advised to read and understand these rules before participating.
