Vladislav Artemiev beat Magnus Carlsen on Day 2 of the World Rapid Championship 2022

Magnus Carlsen was a triple Champion in 2019 – in classical, rapid and blitz, until he lost both his rapid and blitz titles to Abdusattorov and MVL respectively. This year, Carlsen seems ready to win back at least one his world titles as until the 10th round he was the sole leader with a 9.5/10 score, drawing only against GM Arjun Erigaisi.

GM Vladislav Artemiev was a point behind Calrsen, and faced him on Round 11 after beating Erigaisi on Round 10. In the game Carlsen blundered and resigned to now share the first place with Artemiev.
