Vidit Santosh Gujrathi Becomes the FIDE Online Arena Ambassador
Indian GM Vidit Santosh Gujrathi, the star of the recently concluded FIDE Grand Prix Series in Berlin and Belgrade, has become the first FIDE Online Arena ambassador. Arena users will see Vidit supporting young talent on the platform, live streaming and playing online tournaments starting from March 2022. Vidit will also surprise some users with personal congratulations for achieving FOA titles, approved by FIDE.
Vidit is the second highest ranked Indian chess player in India after the former World Champion Viswanathan Anand. He is a logical choice for the official FIDE gaming platform, given the continuously rising popularity of chess in India and the country’s bid to host the 2022 Chess Olympiad.
The Indian superstar is showing great results in chess. For instance he was the captain of the chess olympiad 2020 in which he and the team won gold. Vidit also joined the World Chess Championship cycle and took part in the FIDE World Chess Grand Prix 2022 in Berlin and Belgrade. He is among the top 20 players in the world and is considered one of the most promising young chess players.
The young Grandmaster is also a successful chess entertainer and streamer. With a vast social media presence, Vidit is a Youtube star. He regularly streams and publishes educational content which is popular among his subscribers.
