Tata Steel Chess Tournament 2023: All You Need to Know

On January 13, the Tata Steel Chess tournament 2023 will kick off in The Moriaan, Wijk aan Zee, featuring top chess players.

Participants:

Top grandmasters will take part in the tournament, including 2021 champion Magnus Carlsen who will participate alongside Indian prodigies like Arjun Erigaisi, Pragg, & Gukesh.

Tournament schedule:

The tournament takes place January 13-29. According to the official schedule, a group of masters involving GMs will play each other thirteen times, starting on 14 January, rest days are scheduled for 23, 26, and 29 January respectively.

Format:

The time control will be 100 minutes for 40 moves, then 50 minutes for the next 20 moves, and then 15 minutes for the remaining moves.
