Magnus Carlsen among the 6 finalists of the annual Norwegian Sports Gala
NRK announced the six finalists of the “Name of the Year”, the annual Norwegian Sports Gala. Magnus Carlsen is of course one of them!

After 15 world titles in all time formats with the most recent being the 2022 World Chess Rapid & Blitz Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Magnus Carlsen is dominating the chess world since 2010.
No wonder why NRK put him first on the list of the finalists for the “Name of the Year”, among with Erling Braut Haaland (footballer in Manchester City), Casper Ruud (tennis world No.2), and Viktor Hovland (golf world No.10).
The winner will be announced during the Sports Gala on Saturday 7 January.
