Nepomniachtchi defeated Firouzja in Round 4 of the FIDE Candidates

Ian Nepomniachtchi beat Alireza Firouzja with White pieces in 39 moves.

Ian had a good start in the Candidates Tournament. He scored 3 points in 4 rounds. He is now leading in the event. The inevitable question we ask ourselves is whether Carlsen will agree to play against Nepo (again!) should the Russian end up winning the Candidates.

However, the Candidates is far from over and the outcome is not clear, but Nepo has good chances to win it the second time in a row.
