The 2023 FIDE Women’s World Championship stands as the most significant women’s over-the-board event this year. GM Ju Wenjun, the defending women’s world champion, competes against GM Lei Tingjie, the challenger, in the battle for the prestigious world champion title. Commencing on July 5, the championship offers a substantial prize fund of €500,000.
