FIDE Chess Arena Introduces Official Widgets

FIDE Online Arena introduces gorgeous new widgets. The widgets, available for dark and light color schemes, allow chess players, bloggers, and the media to easily embed and display games on their sites and blogs in a beautiful way.

Widget for all games, played and broadcast, is available on FIDE Online Arena

From now on, all games played or broadcast by FIDE Online Arena, are available for embedding. This might be especially useful for chess bloggers and media which cover chess — their reporting and events coverage can now be accompanied by a beautiful widget that features move-by-move notation.

The widgets automatically adjust to the size of the screen and look well on any device, including mobile. The maximum width of the widget is 600px, but can be additionally adjusted and customized by the users.

To embed the widget, simply click on the share button and choose ‘embed’ option. You just need to paste a few lines of code onto a page, and the widget will immediately appear. This is similar to embedding a Youtube video. Several high-load media outlets already use the FIDE Chess Arena widgets to complement their chess coverage.

The widgets are introduced in time for the final leg of the FIDE Grand Prix Series that takes place in Berlin and determines two final participants of the Candidates Tournament, the qualifier for the World Chess Championship match. Given the Grand Prix’s high profile and major media coverage, the media is encouraged to use the official widgets for their coverage of the event.
