Armageddon Series: Asia & Oceania Kicks Off with Star-Studded Lineup in Berlin
The Armageddon Championship Series is back for its second stage with Asia & Oceania featuring some of the most talented chess players in the world competing under immense time pressure in a hair-raised dramatic show for a chance to join Wesley So and Sam Shankland in the Grand Finale in September. The event will take place from April 3 to April 9 in Berlin and promises to be a thrilling week of high-stakes and spectacular chess.
The second stage of the Armageddon Championship Series will see the chess stars Daniil Dubov (FID, Blitz rating 2802), Yangyi Yu (CHN, blitz rating 2783), Vladimir Kramnik (FID, blitz rating 2712), Nodirbek Abdusattorov (UZB, blitz rating 2672), Vidit Gujrathi (IND, blitz rating 2651), Parham Maghsoodloo (IRN, blitz rating 2647), Gukesh D (IND, blitz rating 2612), and Murali Karthikeyan (IND, blitz rating 2523). These players will battle it out over seven days in a double-elimination format, with daily matches consisting of two blitz games and an Armageddon game (if necessary).
The Armageddon Championship Series promises to be an immersive viewing experience, with real-time displays of the players’ heart rates and calories burned, breakneck moves, and cutting-edge analysis by GM Jan Gustafsson and WGM Jovanka Houska. The series will be broadcast on 17 TV platforms and online on the World Chess Youtube channel.
The event takes place in a bespoke pavilion at the World Chess Club Berlin. Chess fans and spectators are welcome to come to the club to meet their favorite chess stars. Registration details will be available on the World Chess Club Berlin social media.

GM Daniil Dubov — GM Vladimir Kramnik
The pairings on the upcoming days will be established using the double-elimination system and will be determined by the results of the previous days.
